Position Summary The Director of Primary Care Informatics will be responsible for supporting the transformation of the department's initiatives towards data-driven and patient-centered processes. This role will direct the creation of and oversee informatics efforts that impact our patient population in the hospital and clinics. Duties & Responsibilities
Support the UI Health 3i (Integrated Information Infrastructure) effort to build an information system that creates the foundation for the future of care delivery.
Create, support and educate department clinicians about the workflows necessary to effectively use the Electronic Health Record (EHR); help to create, support and educate clinicians about orders/rules and improved documentation methods.
Retrieve and analyze data to help transform care delivery within the Department of Family and Community Medicine and support a culture of a data-driven organization (e.g. support clinical quality metrics and dashboards).
Serve on committees and project teams related to informatics or where informatics can help improve processes.
Act as a liaison to information services (IS), clinical department heads, program directors, clinic directors, medical directors, faculty, residents, clinicians, and other staff for all aspects of Health IT (HIT).
Participate in regular meetings with the Department of Family and Community Medicine leadership to provide strategic guidance on design and implementation of systems supporting patient care, operational performance and research activities.
Support the department members (faculty, staff, and residents) in appropriate EHR and informatics related efforts (research, training, and education).
