Job SummaryPosition leads, directs, and manages contracting for UK HealthCare. Responsible for developing a sourcing strategy, setting priorities based on greatest impact on cost of goods, services and equipment. This position is responsible for management of all activities regarding contracting with suppliers. Ensures that the contract portfolio is effective, efficient, meets the requirements of UK HealthCare and is optimized between GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) committed contracts and local agreements Responsible for administering purchasing laws, rules and regulations; frequently interacting with staff, faculty, and executive administration. Create strategic alliances with suppliers to leverage volume and optimize volume and spend. To work with health care affiliates to create system contracts as appropriate. Internal Employee Being Considered ( IEBC ). Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesMust demonstrate the ability to conduct and interpret qualitative/quantitative analysis of operational data. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Working knowledge of SAP and reporting Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/ExperienceBusiness degree from a recognized college or university in business or medical field is preferred. Minimum experience of 2-5 years in procurement from the health care environment.
