The Dairy Buyer will oversee the procurement and inventory management necessary for supporting production schedules and fulfilling customer demand for Work-in-Process and Purchased Finished Goods. This position involves refining and implementing procurement processes for specific categories. The role is essential to our operations and demands strong communication, organizational, analytical, and negotiation abilities.

Job Duties:

• Collaborate with scheduling, plant operations, and finance teams to ensure procurement strategies align with production timelines and budgetary objectives.
• Secure Work-in-Process (WIP) items essential for production, maintaining inventory levels within target ranges.
• Purchase finished goods to meet projected demand while balancing inventory levels, budgetary limits, and quality requirements.
• Identify and develop new sources for WIP and finished goods suppliers.
• Manage vendor and contract manufacturer relationships, ensuring effective communication and timely deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and optimize storage in company and external facilities.
• Coordinate with various teams to forecast material requirements, aligning procurement with production needs, product changes, and new launches.
• Address and resolve any delivery and invoicing discrepancies with suppliers.
• Conduct monthly stock item inventory counts.
• Update and maintain accurate pricing and delivery schedules in the ERP/MRP system (Canopy).

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of purchasing experience in the dairy/milk or CPG industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong expertise in using ERP or MRP systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making data-driven decisions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the adaptability to meet changing needs.

*** This position would be fully remote after 1 month of onsite training with their current Buyer (training can be held in Bloomington, MN or Monroe, WI). This is a direct hire role that pays between $70-80K. Must live in MN or WI to be considered ***
