Ultra-Tech Printing is seeking an Production Manager (PM) to lead our Production Department, including printing and finishing operations, materials management (purchasing), and shipping/receiving. This person will supervise our 4x10 production shift, including scheduling, operator performance and development, and materials requirements. They will be responsible for ensuring customer specifications are met in terms of product quality.
The PM will work with customers to understand and execute their quality and production requirements. They will work with suppliers to ensure that materials are on hand to process workflows. They will also be responsible for coordinating with other departments, including Graphics, Sales, and Administration.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a focus on quality and efficiency. The position requires 5 years of experience with flexographic presses and prior supervisory experience with hourly production personnel. Knowledge of folding cartons and flexible films/packaging converting is a plus, as is experience with LabelTraxx or similar ERP software. Previous experience working with packaging customers is required.
Responsibilities:
· The PM will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to flexographic printing operations and finishing.
· Manage first shift production and finishing team (4x10hrs M-Th)
· This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a focus on quality and efficiency.
· Coordinate and schedule production orders to ensure timely and efficient execution.
· Manage supply chain including key suppliers.
· Train and develop team members on proper printing techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
· Maintain inventory of printing supplies, including inks, plates, and other consumables, and coordinate reordering as needed.
· Collaborate with other departments.
· Maintain QA Certifications (ISO/GMI)
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing process enhancements to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
