Job DescriptionAdvanced Assembly Inc., located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add Machine Operator I positions to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products. Our exceptional reputation has been earned through the years, based on production capability, reliability and quality.These full time positions offer either a 1st shift schedule of Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM and Fridays, 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM OR a 2nd shift schedule of 2:45 PM - 12:45 AM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. If you have an interest in working in a high-tech manufacturing environment, while learning, developing and advancing your career in a skilled trade, we highly recommend you to apply!Job Description: Machine Operators are responsible for everyday machine operation of the Surface Mount (SMT), Coating, Wave or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment. This is an entry-level Machine Operator position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).
  • Follow directions, read from and interpret written instructions
  • Make sound judgments while operating production equipment
  • Organize responsibilities to achieve maximum output to meet production and quality requirements
  • Understand and follow all applicable quality system procedures and perform all assigned responsibilities outlined in the quality system
  • Keep work areas neat and organized
  • Follow established product handling procedures consistently
  • Setup, run and tear down jobs on each of the production lines
  • Operate the SMT line, Wave, coating or AOI equipment
  • Provide general assistance to the workflow when and where needed
  • Perform daily cleaning of machine as needed
  • Follow the daily checklist
  • Communicate with the Automation Technicians, Supervisor, or Team Leads on quality issues
  • Verify parts on the line
  • Assist Automation Technicians as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language
  • Knowledge of SMT, Wave, AOI or coating equipment preferred but not required
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good verbal skills and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to fill out daily records and logs
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones

  • Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
  • Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly using hands to complete the task at a constant rate so the assembly line will not be interrupted.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to work with small electronic parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis.
