Opportunity to Manage Federal Grants and State Appropriations
SummaryThis position plays a crucial role in managing the complete lifecycle of Federal grants and State appropriations. Responsibilities include identifying grant opportunities, securing funding, monitoring subrecipients, and closing out awards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSecure Funding:
  • Establish and manage timelines for securing Federal grant funding.
  • Regularly monitor Federal grants websites and resources to identify new grant opportunities.
  • Aid program clients in creating grant proposal documents and Federal Grant Summaries for approval by the State Budget Agency and OMB.
Support Program Clients
  • Assist program clients in completing federal and IDOH budget templates.
  • Gather and organize necessary documentation for grant proposals.
  • Guide program clients through the approval process of grant proposals by ISDH leadership and OMB.
Reporting And Compliance
  • Review reporting guidelines and set deadlines for program and fiscal staff.
  • Provide technical assistance on grant reporting to ensure compliance.
  • Attend financial meetings to assess expenditures and manage grant development activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of grant application processes and financial regulations.
  • Strong research, writing, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Supervision And Work Environment
  • This position does not have direct reports.
  • Work involves analyzing grant guidelines and communicating effectively.
  • Receives general instructions and works with various stakeholders.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office setting using technology such as computers and email.
