**Overview**
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Microbiologist/Molecular Biologist. The role involves conducting a wide range of microbiological examinations and analyses on clinical specimens to identify various bacteria and yeast, such as E.coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida auris. In addition to these responsibilities, this position may also involve cross-training in other laboratory techniques.
**Key Responsibilities**

• Perform microbiological and molecular analyses, including culture, PCR, and WGS, on clinical samples.
• Adhere to CLIA regulations for quality control and quality assurance documentation.
• Conduct nucleic acid extractions and utilize molecular techniques like PCR, sequencing, and MALDI-TOF.
• Interpret and validate laboratory results, maintain records, and perform quality control checks.
• Manage laboratory supplies, assist in compiling reports, and maintain competency in all trained areas.

**Requirements**

• Strong knowledge of microbiology principles and practices.
• Proficiency in laboratory safety practices and protocols.
• Awareness of relevant state and federal regulations, including CLIA.
• Excellent communication skills for technical information dissemination.
• Ability to analyze data, identify QA issues, and prepare comprehensive laboratory reports.
