Umanist Staffing is Hiring a LCD & CNC Production Excellence Manager Near Buckhannon, WV

DescriptionYou will play a crucial role in driving cultural change within the IPT, focusing on cost reduction and improvement metrics. This position requires a hands-on approach to oversee adherence to quality and procedural standards while ensuring that all department members are trained and involved in ongoing process modifications and improvements.
Responsibilities
  • LCD & Finishing Mill Production (30%)
    • Develop and adopt standards to improve production efficiency and reduce part refinishing.
    • Stratify WCM manufacturing losses and assist in KPI monitoring.
    • Schedule work and prioritize tasks for Finisher Specialist operators.
    • Maintain part databases and coordinate forming needs.
    • Collaborate with the IPT Manager and Reliability Engineer on 5S & Autonomous Maintenance.
    • Update SOPs and training databases as necessary.
    • Provide technical support to Maintenance during emergencies.
  • LCD & Reinforcement Mill Block Manufacturing (20%)
    • Serve as the subject matter expert in LCD & reinforcement mill block production.
    • Create manufacturing instructions and review orders for errors.
    • Develop new methods of grinding and machining.
    • Oversee mill-related projects and assist with part rejects.
  • CNC Programming (15%)
    • Write and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis machines using GibbsCAM software.
    • Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for setups and part models.
    • Implement new technologies to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Employee Supervision & Development (20%)
    • Model SEFRO Vision, Mission, Values, and Objectives to develop a high-performance team culture.
    • Manage time records, attendance reporting, and disciplinary actions.
    • Coach and mentor hourly associates to improve performance.
    • Facilitate communication between shifts and management.
  • WCM (5%)
    • Coach hourly associates to drive World Class Standards through WCM efforts.
    • Collaborate with pillar leads to coordinate participation in WCM/Lean projects.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (5%)
    • Serve as a behavioral role model for EHS standards.
    • Conduct safety audits and promote EHS initiatives.
  • LCD Customer Support and Quoting (5%)
    • Review customer drawings and propose design modifications.
    • Provide technical service and special project reports to customers.
Qualifications
  • Education Level:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Engineering discipline or Journeyman status with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in a union environment and with machine and systems operation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and influencing skills.
    • Problem-solving abilities using scientific methods.
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
    • Project management skills with emphasis on design & development phases preferred.
