United Methodist Communities is currently seeking a Homemaker for The Shores , our Senior Care Community located in Ocean City, NJ within picturesque Cape May County. The Homemaker performs the combined duties of dining services, housekeeping and laundry. Requirements for a Homemaker : Successful completion of ServeSafe course and certification (preferred). Successful completion of Dining Assistant Training course (preferred). Knowledge of applicable federal, state and county regulations (preferred). Responsibilities for a Homemaker : Prepare high quality food in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations. Follow menus and recipes correctly, making any necessary or requested substitutions appropriately. Understand liberalized therapeutic diets and special food requirements and find ways to make such modifications palatable and enjoyable. Regularly elicit residents' direction in choices of foods, menus, recipes and presentation. Assist residents who are unable to eat without support (with proper training and certification) as appropriate. Consistently follow standard principles of sanitation and universal precautions to preserve food quality and prevent the transmission of food-borne illness. Assist with taking inventory of, storing and ordering household grocery supplies. Provide a clean, healthy and safe environment. Promote a harmonious, pleasant and attractive environment. Clean surfaces and floor of bathroom, room, and kitchen. Clean bedroom and living room; vacuum carpets and dust rooms. Maintain equipment and cooking area to ensure safety and sanitation requirements are met; keep a clean, tidy and organized kitchen in compliance with all regulations; cleans when necessary; reports repair and maintenance needs appropriately. Takes temperature of foods and equipment and maintains proper documentation for regulatory compliance. Help to prepare and serve appropriate snacks and meals.
