About the Role
The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager at UNC Health Appalachian is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. The AP Manager ensures timely vendor payments, maintains accurate records and control reports, and supervises the Accounts Payable staff. This role involves training organizational leaders on system usage, evaluating accounting reports, and assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes. Additionally, the AP Manager monitors inventory counts and adjustments and contributes to the budgeting process. Key Responsibilities include:

Accounts Payable Management:

Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.

Maintain accurate records and prepare control reports to monitor accounts payable activities.

Communicate outstanding invoices requiring approval to relevant departments.

Supervision and Training:

Train and supervise the Accounts Payable staff to ensure efficient and effective performance.

Provide system training to organizational leaders as needed.

Oversee and indirectly supervise Cash Accountant and Staff Accountants.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Review and evaluate accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings.

Prepare month-end and year-end account reconciliations.

Assist in month-end close activities, including analysis and closing procedures.

Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Gross annual hiring compensation ranges from $63,440.00-$91,988.00. This position is eligible for benefits after a 60-day waiting period, with the potential to work in a hybrid capacity, with the expectation to report to Boone, NC when in-person.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
