About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Operations Technician to join our team. As a Plant Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within our facility. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of our plant operations, contributing to the overall success of our organization. Key Responsibilities include:

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC systems, boilers, generators, pumps, and control systems.

Monitor equipment and systems for proper functioning, identifying and diagnosing issues promptly, and taking corrective actions as needed.

Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, following established schedules and procedures to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.

Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and systems, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.

Respond to equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, and emergency situations promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.

Collaborate with the plant operations team to troubleshoot complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in electronic maintenance management systems.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all maintenance and repair tasks.

Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs, inspections, or equipment servicing.

Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated on the latest developments in plant operations and maintenance.

Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance and repairs.

Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures to optimize plant operations.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $18.25 - $26.46 / hour.
What You Need

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in plant operations, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience as a Plant Operations Technician or in a similar maintenance role.

Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance and repair work.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols and regulations.

Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

Flexibility to work on-call shifts and respond to emergency situations outside regular working hours.

Basic computer skills for data entry and maintenance tracking.
Work Environment: The Plant Operations Technician will work primarily within our facility's mechanical and operational areas. The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including temperature variations, noise, and occasional exposure to hazardous materials. The candidate should be prepared to work in a physically demanding environment while adhering to safety guidelines.
