The Position

The Underwood Law Firm is a real estate and business litigation firm looking for a Senior Counsel with 10 to 20 years of experience to join our rapidly growing firm. Our work involves pioneering novel issues and innovative approaches in the cutting-edge field of partition law. Our firm has been recognized as the experts in the field in Newsweek, the LA Business Journal, and as a nominee for the prestigious Vanguard Award from Law.com. 

Our Firm seeks a Senior Counsel with trial experience to oversee work done by junior associates, and ensure that all clients are taken care of, work is done at a high level, and the cases are proceeding as expeditiously as possible from inception to resolution. The position will oversee 6-8 junior associates, and be primarily responsible for all legal work done by the firm.

Responsibilities:

· Drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal correspondence 

· Arguing in court

· Developing litigation strategies to help clients achieve their goals 

· Reviewing and investigating legal claims 

· Conducting legal research and writing, including complaints, discovery, briefs, and letters;

· Appearing for court and depositions;

· Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel and clients 

· Reporting to firm management.

Requirements:

· Strong interest in the firm’s practice areas (Real Estate/ Business / Civil Litigation)

· Attention to detail 

· Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

· Self-motivated 

· Commitment to ethical practice

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team

Compensation

This position pays up to $250,000 annually, with incentives, depending on experience.

Location

Attorneys can work remotely from home, or from a nearby office in Newport Beach, or San Diego.
