Compensation: $20-$25/hr (based on experience)

Projected Annual Compensation: $43,600-54,000 (based on experience)

UNEARTH VINTAGE is a funky vintage shop specializing in one-of-a-kind, affordable vintage thrift and upcycled clothing. Our store offers 2,000 sq/ft of curated vintage and thrift clothing, furniture, and jewelry; the ultimate treasure hunt. Famous for our $5 rack filled with secondhand clothing bargains; restocked daily! Unearth Vintage is a family owned and operated small business. As first-generation immigrants from Eastern Europe, thrifting and unearthing affordable vintage clothing is our way of life.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Store Manager and keyholder. This is a unique opportunity to work for a small family-owned company that truly cares about everyone on their team. The Assistant Manager will support our small team by managing day to day store operations, including sales and customer service. They will contribute to an efficient work space through general shop maintenance, upkeep, and merchandising. The Assistant Manager must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a talent for using existing resources to maximize revenue and profit. In this role, you will work alongside the Store Owners to lead the training and development of the team, empower employees to work together to take care of the customer and store, and serve as their number one cheerleader and coach. Exceptional customer service is a must and some management or retail experience is preferred.

As an Assistant Store Manager no two days will be the same, but most days will include the following:

  • Create an exceptional customer experience for All
  • Assist Owners with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and evaluating team members
  • Lead initial, recurrent, and new policy/procedural training
  • Assign daily tasks, give timely and consistent feedback to team members through coaching
  • Coordinate interview schedules with Owners and recommend hiring of store employees
  • Collaborate with Owners on employee performance evaluation and discussion
  • Act as manager-on-duty on Owners days off
  • Co-lead most day-to-day store operations
  • Process, price, tag, hang, and display merchandise to maximize sales. Price a wide variety of quality, vintage clothing for the store
  • Design and style eye-catching displays and store visuals
  • Ensure store is adequately but not excessively stocked with merchandise at all times
  • Special projects and lots more!

Qualifications – Experience – Characteristics:

  • Passion for vintage clothing and thrifting!
  • Inspiring and engaging leader with a passion for team development and commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Minimum of 1 year prior retail management experience or equivalent experience in managing a team
  • Must be self-starting, self-motivating, resourceful, solutions-oriented mindset, ability to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and enjoy a high-energy, high-productivity environment over a 9-5 desk job
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Commitment to cultivating an excellent customer experience
  • Ability to work smart and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Friendly, approachable, and always able to maintain a positive, can-do attitude
  • Must be team oriented, take initiative and jump in to help with any task
  • Approach challenges with collaboration, cooperation, and poise
  • Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and team-oriented skills
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and have weekend availability. Flexible with a changing work schedule.
