About the job
Manage financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and oversees general ledger operations while working closely with the Assistant Finance Controller.
What will you do?
•Financial Reporting
o Performs month-end closing procedures
o Prepares monthly financial statements and reporting packages
•General Ledger
o Posts daily cash transactions to the General Ledger and reconciles bank accounts
o Research and correct any out-of-balance situations between the GL and sub-ledger
o Analyzes, amortizes, and reconciles prepaid accounts
o Prepares journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
o Reviews general ledger reconciliations prepared by others
o Prepares monthly sales commissions calculations
•Audit & Tax
o Provides outside auditors and tax consultants with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit and tax returns
o Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
o Prepares sales tax calculations and records accruals
•Accounting Operations
o Coordinates more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
o Assists in improving systems and procedures within the accounting department, initiating corrective action plans as needed
o Coordinates with software vendor to maintain Intacct accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
o Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
o Performs other related duties as assigned
We are looking for:
•Strong attention to deadlines and detail - ability to handle multiple tasks
•Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
•Robust oral and written communication skills
•High level of computer literacy, including Excel (Pivot Tables)
•Understanding of GAAP reporting, SaaS accounting, and revenue recognition models
•Deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations
•Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and customer collections
•Functional knowledge of Sale Order Process Billing, Receivables Management, Payables Management
•Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software
•6-8 years active experience in an accounting role
•Bachelors in accounting is required
