General Statement
The Site Coordinator PT, under general supervision, operates a Senior Nutrition Program meal site and/or assists in the office with administrative duties and volunteer coordination. Employee performs food service work according to the Federal, State, and County Rules and Regulations governing the Senior Nutrition Program. Employee is responsible for ordering meals, monitoring meal deliveries, and making certain a full meal is available to each participant in the program. Employee is responsible for conducting daily activities for seniors who attend the site and supervising volunteer activities at the site. Work includes detailed record-keeping pertaining to attendance and meal delivery.
Essential Functions
Administrative
Coordinates meal delivery volunteers and additional volunteers as needed (i.e. meal packaging, etc.)
Utilizes volunteer management software to schedule and manage volunteers.
Assists with volunteer recruitment and retention activities.
Completes reassessment phone calls and/ or home visits for low-risk clients and provides appropriate documentation.
Works in ServTracker system to document interactions, assessments, meal service type, meal units, create route sheets and sync daily meal schedule to the MobileMeals app.
Completes reporting in the Aging Resources Management System (ARMS) as required by policy.
Delivers meals as needed.
Meal Site
Arrives at the site before the caterer, turns on ovens/warming cabinet, heat, etc.
Receives food from the caterer and places hot food in oven/warmer and cold food in the refrigerators.
Takes temperatures and records them on tickets and daily temperature sheets.
Distributes home-delivered meals to volunteers as they come to pick them up.
Supervises the activities of site and meal delivery volunteers.
Assists with the recruiting of new program participants and volunteers.
Keeps Nutrition Coordinator informed of any changes in client status and stays abreast of changes in home-delivered meal routes and client changes.
Makes coffee and/or tea for congregate participants.
Presents daily activity for congregate participants.
Serves food to congregate participants. Converses with participants while they eat.
Puts out contribution box, signs in sheets, and routes sheets for clients and volunteer carriers.
Cleans coffee carafe and basket and tea pitchers.
Cleans floors, tables, and countertops.
Checks bathroom for paper towels and tissues and empties trash cans.
Completes attendance records for the day.
Checks that all clients have safely left the building, and that the lights, oven/warmer, coffee maker, heat or air conditioning, and lights are turned off and the building is locked.
Develops and maintains cooperative and courteous relationships with division employees, staffers, and managers in other divisions, representatives from organizations, and the general public to maintain goodwill toward the division and project a good division image.
Follows Federal, State, and local program policies, procedures, regulations, and FDA Food code.
Picks up commodity food boxes (CSFP) from the Human Services Building monthly and distributes to participating clients and completes monthly CSFP paperwork.
Knowledge of the social and physical needs of senior citizens.
Knowledge of the required storage temperatures for various foods to preserve flavor and food safety.
Maintains high standards of personal cleanliness and meets required sanitation standards.
Performs new client registration.
Completes monthly paperwork, including but not limited to attendance records, meal delivery tickets and recording of temperature sheets for each menu item. Compiles meal totals in an electric workbook (Microsoft Excel).
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED), and one (1) year of experience in serving food and coordinating activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including steam tables, ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers, etc. Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are for medium work.
