Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County is Hiring a Facility Manager Near Fort Worth, TX

SUMMARY

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the housekeeping, maintenance, repairs, grounds-keeping, preventative maintenance routines and code compliance requirements for the entire campus. The Facilities Manager ensures that all structures are properly maintained, are in a constant state of condition improvement, and retains an appearance of like-new condition. The Facilities Manager ensures that all projects and work orders are completed timely, efficiently, and cost effectively. The Facilities Manager coordinates, oversees, and personally conducts the housekeeping or maintenance of campus grounds, plumbing, indoor/outdoor lighting, facilities repairs, physical safety, equipment/material inventory and cleanliness of Union Gospel Mission-TC and adheres to all applicable governing codes and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Oversee the performance of, and provide leadership for the housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds keeping teams.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance and repair services when needed.
  • Manage tasks and communications for the Work Order portal. Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner, accurately recorded, and updates clearly communicated to appropriate parties.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Create and maintain annual maintenance calendar. Ensure all PM activities are completed thoroughly and by designated deadlines. Assign tasks to capable parties and follow-up for confirmation of completion. Deliver monthly PM completion reporting.
  • Provide written maintenance reports weekly to Senior Management of project statuses: i.e. Completed, In Progress and Incomplete.
  • Determine the priority and distribution of workload to personnel. Assess the workload, overseeing the assignments to completion.
  • Conduct weekly inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and code violations and make provisions for timely repair of violations.
  • Maintain Facilities to "like new" condition.
  • Teach, train, and offer Skill Building guidance to Program Workers.
  • Thoroughly review, code, approve, and submit all invoices to accounting relating to facilities. 
  • Ensure all records are organized in a manner including but not limited to permanent agency documents, vendor management files, and other general accounting files. 
  • Manage vendor or contractor contracts and relations to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Maintain inventory control on all maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Inspect work performed by contractors and report problems to be resolved.
  • Be on call for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
  • Ensure buildings are up to code with all permits and inspections. This includes scheduling required inspections with vendors, providing oversight during inspections and working with city, state and federal entities on permit renewals. Submit check requests to accounting for annual permit renewals. 
  • Review inspection reports and correct deficiencies post-inspection either through internal resources or by scheduling vendors to perform work.
  • Perform forward planning to anticipate maintenance issues and associated costs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  1. Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in management related field preferred.
  2. Minimum 4 years of maintenance field work required.
  3. Certifications in trades preferred.
  4. Competencies in plumbing, electric, HVAC systems and OSHA standards preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to work a 40 hour week.
  2. Ability to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools as well as power tools and landscaping equipment.
  3.  Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance; ability to walk the 10-acre campus several times a day.
  4.  See well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.
  5. Lift and carry up to 25 pounds dead weight to move or transfer boxes or documents.
  6. Hear and speak well enough to communicate on the 2-way radio system, as needed.
  7. Spend 50% of working time outside in temperature varying from -0oF to 110oF.
  8. Ability to spend 90% working time in environment of continuous moderate voices and office machine noise typical for business office atmosphere.
  9. Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
