Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is Hiring a Human Resources Intern Near Paul, MN

Job DescriptionJob Title: HR Intern
FLSA: Non-exempt
Pay Range: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
Job Status: Part time, temporary
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (UGMTC) provides emergency shelter, food, basic needs and wraparound programs for people facing homelessness, hunger and addiction in the community. Located in Saint Paul, UGMTC opened its doors in 1902 and has been feeding, sheltering and offering the hope of Jesus Christ to people in need ever since.
Mission: To provide Christ-centered, life-changing pathways for all people who are experiencing homelessness, hunger and addiction.

POSITION SUMMARY:The HR Intern will work on various objectives and tasks focused around the HRIS (human resources information system), including building out and updating forms. If time allows, this position may also include reviewing training materials, providing training to staff members on the learning management system.
During this internship, you will gain valuable experience in various aspects of HR functions, including exposure to an HRIS system (Paycor), process improvements and workplace culture. This is an excellent opportunity to learn in a fast paced environment while contributing to the success of our organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Updating company database, including updating forms and templates in the system.
  • Act as lead for in-process implementation, including testing and configuration, report writing, system optimization post go-live.
  • Support the administration of our HRIS to understand best practices around personnel files, workflows and data integrity.
  • Facilitate employee engagement through the use of the HRIS
  • Documentation of process improvements, or enhancements of new software and initiatives.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Minimum Job RequirementsStudying toward a degree in human resources management or related field. Familiarity with HRIS software is advantageous. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Generate, receive, and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Work well independently and highly relational to be able to collaborate with individuals outside of the department.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Sitting, working at computer
  • May be required to travel to other campuses to provide training assistance.
  • In-person position.
