Full-time, Contract Description We are seeking a Trade Settlement Analyst to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Physical and Paper traders in all areas of Physical and Derivative trade. The Trade Settlement Analyst will also be responsible for supporting the operations crude team with all settlements of International & US Domestic trades. Responsibilities:
Review all entered paper deals in ERP systems on the day after they are executed
Check physical and derivatives confirmations from counterparties/brokers and alert traders of any disparities
Check physical and derivatives contract reports and the settlement reports received from Operators against trader's records and the ERP system accordingly
Work closely with the traders to develop an understanding of the market and related counterparties, grades, market movements, instruments
Obtain an understanding of the Operations team to enable a better interface between the operations team and trading departments
Develop knowledge and understanding of the market, support Traders and Analyst in preparing internal reports, filing documents, managing trading records, and market analysis
Review paper position/P&L with OTC counterparties daily. Settle the P&L with OTC parties on a monthly basis
Review the internal system to ensure all information is aligned with third-party data
Perform paper monthly end closing with the Finance team
Accountable for confirming Receivables and payables in a timely manner and recording and processing all settlements as per our internal procedures and processes
Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counterparties and customers; scan, send, and save the documents internally per company accounting and compliance process
Responsible for Budgeting and Forecasting by-weekly and monthly, providing support to Finance monthly
Prepare Monthly Closing to reconcile all trades at the end of the month supporting the accounting department and management
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience with settlements and trading environments preferred
Ideally would have undertaken an internship in a similar role
Must be interested in and prepared to learn about the oil trading environment
Experience working in an international oil and gas company preferred
Quick learner and keen to work in a trading environment where a high volume of oil is traded
Able to communicate with clearly & conscience internally & externally
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication
Self-motivated and pro-active
Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is required
