Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials and supplies. Your expertise in supply chain management and negotiation skills will contribute to the success of our organization.

Duties:

• Perform all cycle counts for raw materials based on schedules provided by Purchasing Manager.
• Maintain cycle count procedure on a spreadsheet in the computer for review by all relevant employees in the Stoughton facility.
• Enter receipts into SAP for real time inventory.
• Single contact for accounts payable to verify pricing, invoicing, and receiving issues.
• Perform open order reports to establish on-time delivery reports for suppliers.
• Schedule all inbound shipments to the plant.
• Maintain and update ISO9001 compliant documents.
• Identify and evaluate sources of MRO materials and services necessary for the efficient operation of the plant.
• Procure material, supplies, equipment and services at favorable costs consistent with quality standards and schedule.
• Prepare supplier agreements and assists in the negotiation of supply line terms and conditions to reduce supply risk, lead time and cost savings while building vendor relationships.
• Maintain proper and cost effective inventory control of MRO supplies through the management of delivery times and quality products.
• Evaluate economies and efficiencies of scale on purchase of MRO supplies and consolidate supply base effectively for the purchase of reducing costs and maintaining efficiency of operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, SAP, data entry, record keeping and math skills. CPM or CPSM designation a plus.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms for purchasing materials online
• Solid understanding of materials management and inventory control processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
