UniSea, Inc. is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient Server/Barista for our Margaret Bay Café’ and Pyramid Coffee establishment in the Grand Aleutian Hotel in beautiful Dutch Harbor, Alaska situated in the stunning scenery of the Aleutian Islands.

Essential Duties:
- Take food and beverage orders from customers and present orders to kitchen/lounge staff and serve. Prepare beverages for customers at the bar and fill server orders according to specifications in an efficient and courteous manner.
- Clear and set tables according to instruction.
- Act in the capacity of a server as staffing demands require.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar and dining room during operating hours.
- Collect payment for drinks from both guests and servers.
- Ensure accuracy of all required paperwork and deposit to ensure all food and beverage orders are recorded correctly and all control measures observed. This includes the ability to use electronic point of sale/register system.
- Maintain strict compliance with all Alaska State regulations and company policies regarding alcohol service, as well as all safety and health laws and codes.
- Monitor and regulate consumption of alcohol and display sound judgment as to when to stop service.
- Complete all assigned side work.
- Assist in monthly inventories.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years’ experience in bartending, including cash handling. POS experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older. Must become an Alaska certified server of alcohol within 30 days of hire (training provided).
- Must have or be able to obtain Alaska State Food Worker Card within 30 days of hire
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work with minimum of supervision.
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse cultures in a team environment.
This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $15.00 per hour tips (tips are generally 13-18% of sales).
