About The RoleOur early-stage team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Architect to lead the design and development of our first publicly available AR/VR headset. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating innovative hardware products that embody functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability. The Electrical Engineering Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and manufacturing, to define and refine product requirements and design goals. Your work will ensure the successful delivery of our hardware devices while maintaining a strong focus on user needs and experiences.
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead key architectural and system decisions, such as SOC selection, input/output definition, and component optimization, by integrating product requirements, hardware, software, and user experience insights to deliver a unified, high-quality product.
  • Analyze top-level system requirements and translate them into comprehensive, actionable electrical system specifications that ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on architectural and product decisions.
  • Foster clear and consistent communication with cross-functional teams, actively documenting requirements, decisions, and progress throughout the development process.
  • Establish and maintain efficient development pipelines and workflows, collaborating closely with development teams to effectively engineer and optimize system performance.
  • Develop and execute system-level verification plans and testing methodologies, ensuring thorough validation of end-to-end implementation across all system functions and behaviors.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks, challenges, and bottlenecks in the electrical system design and implementation process.
  • Continuously refine and improve systems engineering processes, staying informed of industry advancements and incorporating best practices to drive product innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing partner’s engineering team, including delegating and reviewing technical work.
Your Qualifications
  • 5 years experience in consumer electronics or wearable technology.
  • 7 years of experience in the EE space.
  • In-depth understanding of Electrical Engineering principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and validation of complex electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to balance and optimize product tradeoffs, such as power and performance, to meet stringent design requirements.
  • Proficiency in embedded systems design, with an emphasis on addressing tight constraints like power consumption and form factor.
  • Mix of experience with analog, DSP, high-speed, and power architectures.
  • Experience with component or module selection of multiple electrical subsystems, such as CPU/SOC, cameras and sensors, displays, battery and power, wireless, and audio.
  • Experience with electrical system specification and design of multiple electrical subsystems.
  • Track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design and software development.
  • Strong interest or experience in computer vision, AR/VR, or object tracking technologies.
  • Ability to travel, as required, up to 10%
