Monday-Friday; Full-time

United Ability is an organization that provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Higher Education Student Coordinator. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and creating opportunities for students from participating colleges and universities to intern, observe, and volunteer with United Ability programs to enhance student learning outcomes and student success. United Ability has more than 600 students each year from multiple universities and disciplines observing, interning, and working in United Ability programs. This position will serve as the liaison between the students, universities, and United Ability program staff. Collaborating with other team members, you will:

  • Work with students, faculty, and internship placement supervisors to ensure the appropriateness of a student’s placement, observation, or involvement in terms of required hours, scope, relevance, and level of responsibility.
  • Ensure United Ability’s policies and practices for internships, student placements, and volunteers are followed.
  • Maintain and monitor academic requirements and complete corresponding paperwork required by the colleges and universities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges and universities, seek new opportunities for student placements that benefit the students and participants at United Ability, and further the mission of United Ability.
  • Provide information on placements and assessment data for program reports and maintain academic records as appropriate.
  • Develop, coordinate, and assess activities in support of achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with administrators, staff, faculty, students, and community members within assigned groups and related projects.

Applicant general qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient use of Microsoft packages
  • Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills required
  • Two years of experience working in a higher education setting is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
