Job Title: Director of United Community Advisory

Reports To: President of Wealth Management

Direct Reports: Financial Advisors, Advisory Services Operations Manager

Salary Grade:

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for directing and coaching Financial Advisors and staff to ensure efficient, value-added client service with the goal of increasing productivity and profitability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
  • Ten plus years relevant work experience
  • Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively convey goals and initiatives to staff and management
  • Demonstrated leadership, recruiting, team building, and coaching skills
  • Expertise in investment products and services
  • Outstanding project management and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion
  • Outstanding analytic skills to determine areas in need of improvement and the ability to find innovative solutions
  • Ability to inform, educate and influence management and team members to support corporate goals and objectives. Talent for thinking strategically and acting as a facilitator.
  • Expertise in the administration of state and federal regulations and reporting requirements regarding investment products
  • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the maintenance of operating and capital budgets. Exercises the usual authority of manager concerning talent management.
  • Coaches, develops, and inspires staff to achieve appropriate annual growth 
  • Recruit and on-board additional advisors to attain benchmark levels
  • Collaborative engagement with critical internal/external stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and priorities
  • Partner with UC Wealth Management leadership team to support and achieve overall business goals
  • Institute and maintain rigorous coaching and development routines to enhance the investment advisory and financial planning acumen of Financial Advisors
  • Acts as the lead contact to broker/dealer, vendors, and industry associations
  • Develop sales systems that are progressive, competitive, and motivational and allow pay for performance in a cost-effective manner
  • Developing and executing business plan initiatives in the furtherance of strategic priorities, such as

improved adoption rates for Financial Planning, Investment Advisory, and Insurance

  • Collaborates with all areas of the bank to identify, analyze, and develop a total reward approach to attract, retain and motivate employees
  • Maintains expertise in investment sales and service. Keeps informed of developments and trends and incorporates appropriate changes to sales programs.
  • Ensures that sales practices are following all state and federal requirements. Directs corrective action where appropriate.
  • Leverage the resources of broker/dealer, in support of Program’s objectives as well as in pursuit of timely problem resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position manages employees and is responsible for the coaching, development, and performance management of those employees.

United location within the footprint.

POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

TRAVEL

This position requires up to 50% travel.
