Job Description:
As a Commercial Construction Estimator at United Contractor Services, you will play a crucial role in our project planning and execution process. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of drywall construction projects, preparing detailed bid proposals, and collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure successful project completion. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation for delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed and itemized cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential information for accurate estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate bids and quotes.
• Maintain and update a database of unit prices, material costs, and labor rates.
• Develop and submit competitive and timely bid proposals.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations as needed.
• Monitor project progress and costs to ensure adherence to budget estimates.
• Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in construction estimating.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on drywall projects.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g. On-screen Takeoff and Procore).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
