United Dental Partners is Hiring a Lead Dental Assistant Near Aurora, IL

We are looking for a full-time qualified Lead Dental Assistant to join our premier dental practice in the Fox Valley area of Aurora, IL. The office is located only a few minutes from downtown Naperville and the Rt 59 Metra Station. The right applicant will have experience preparing general dentistry patients, ensuring that they are comfortable and offering another set of hands for procedures.

JOB CONTENT

The Lead Dental Assistant is the head of all dental assistants in the office. The lead assistant has mastered all general dental assisting duties and has extensive knowledge of the back office to lead other dental assistants. The lead assistant is not only responsible for normal dental assisting duties for providers, but also trains new assistants and oversees patient flow for the back office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives patient/guardian in the waiting room and takes the patient to the procedure room
  • Seats patient and prepares patient for Provider
  • Performs prophylaxis
  • Helps General Provider prepare for procedures by having the necessary tools sterilized and in place
  • Performs four-handed dentistry
  • Takes x-rays when appropriate
  • Patient/guardian education; explains procedures and discusses treatment progress and plan
  • Accompanies patient to lobby and hands off to Front Desk for the administrative process
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Assists with Provider notes and procedure charge out
  • Responsible for dental charting
  • Responsible for all lab cases
  • Responsible of knowing ADA codes
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly dental equipment cleaning
  • Responsible for day to day maintenance of dental equipment
  • Reviews doctor cases and schedule for daily set up
  • Manages patient flow
  • Responsible for training all new dental assistants
  • Responsible for ordering all dental materials and PPE supplies
  • Maintains dental equipment for daily, weekly and monthly cleanings
  • Oversees the spending and return of all lab cases
  • Manages infection control in back office
  • Oversees dental assistants, doctor schedule, and lab cases for daily set up
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Self-directed professional with excellent communication skills to successfully works with patients of all ages.

Acts as UDP’s ambassador for each patient, communicates special handling needs to Front Desk and Provider.

External Perspective:

Becomes the friendly face for patients and key communicator after Provider for patient or guardian.

Ensures patient/guardian comfort and knowledge of treatment routine for patient.
