Job Summary:
As a Crew Leader at United Land Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing arboriculture and landscape enhancement projects. This multifaceted position requires a valid driver's license, proficiency in plant identification, blueprint reading skills, proficiency in heavy machinery operation, and the ability to design and layout plant installations. You will manage a team of crew members, ensuring the successful completion of projects and maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Arboricultural Tasks:

  • Pruning and trimming trees and shrubs to promote health, safety, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Identifying and treating tree diseases and pests.
  • Planting, transplanting, and removing trees in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments for trees on clients' properties.

Landscape Enhancement:

  • Installing new plants, flowers, and shrubs to enhance the overall landscape.
  • Implementing landscape designs and plans, including reading blueprints.
  • Mulching, fertilizing, and irrigating plant beds.
  • Incorporating hardscape elements, such as pathways and retaining walls.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

  • Operating and maintaining various landscaping and arboricultural equipment, such as chainsaws, pruners, and chippers.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Managing a team of landscapers to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Providing guidance and assistance to team members.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to meet project objectives.

Customer Interaction:

  • Interacting with clients to understand their preferences and address any concerns.
  • Providing information on plant care and maintenance to clients.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participating in safety meetings and training sessions.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in arboriculture and landscape enhancement.
  • Knowledge of trees, plants, and landscaping techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and plans.
  • Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including heavy machinery.
  • Strong physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership abilities and the capacity to manage a team independently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
