United Methodist Communities in Camden County, a 5-Star full-service senior living community that is a model in person-centered care community, located in beautiful Collingswood, NJ is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Intern.


United Methodist Communities at Collingswood, a certified Great Place To Work 6 years in a row is seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented college student to join our team as a Human Resources Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, marketing, and business processes. The Human Resources Intern will get exposure to different HR disciplines, develop skills in human resources management, understand best HR practices and learn how human resources professionals partner with functional leaders throughout the organization to achieve business results.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining various databases.
  • Complete projects related to content creation/social media.
  • Participates and assists in town hall meetings and company social and networking events.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives by organizing events, surveys, or other activities to foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide general support in various HR projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Assists HR professionals with daily operations, including talent hiring, orientation, onboarding, policy review, development and administration, HR systems updates or new system implementations, trainings and other talent initiatives.
  • Works on special projects related to Human Resources and various departments.
  • A summer project will be assigned to the intern that will benefit the organization and culminate with a special presentation to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a college degree program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related Healthcare field.
  • Familiarity with basic HR and business terminology.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior collaboration or personal project management experience.
  • A professional demeanor with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duration & Compensation

This is a 10-week summer internship position, offering valuable exposure to HR and Marketing functions and practices. Compensation will be provided in accordance with NJ minimum wage of $15.13/hour.
