Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Junior School Principal and the Director of Modern Languages. Position Purpose French Language B Teacher (Foreign Language Acquisition)
Seeking an experienced French educator with a background in Junior School teaching in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
This is a full-time position.
This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include teaching French Language B to students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4 in the Junior School.
Supervising students during non-instructional time, attending curriculum and grade level meetings.
Other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g. supervision duties, office hours, etc.)
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills, oral and written, and ability to adapt messages to specific audiences, requiring different levels of detail
Experience in a K-12 educational environment essential
Five years teaching experience, preferably in an international setting
Demonstrated knowledge of current research in grades Prek-4 language education
Experience with best practices in assessment and reporting best practices preferred (e.g. Standard-Based Grading and Reporting)
