Position- Data Modeler
Location- Chicago, IL
Duration- Long Term
Day To Day Responsibility:
- Responsible for the fundamental organization of a system embodied in its components, their relationships to each other and to the environment, and the principles guiding its design and evolution.
- Create the conceptual, high-level, and detailed design of the software solution.
- Develop the logical data model (LDM) and assist the DBA in developing the physical data model (PDM).
- Facilitate JAD sessions to determine data rules and hold LDM and PDM Reviews with Data SMEs.
- Apply Capital One Data Naming Standards, check models in and out of Model Repository, and document data model translation decisions.
- Use data profiling tools and techniques, and develop review and QA data requirements.
- Work substantially with little supervision or oversight to deliver key milestones.
- Demonstrate ability to solve for multiple business solutions in logical design.
- Have experience with several platforms and exposure to Zachman or RUP framework.
- Use Data Modeling Tools with demonstrated ability with 2-3 tools.
- Deliver highly technical information to a broader audience beyond the team lead while influencing within the team.
Must Have:
- 3-5 years’ experience with Financial Services clients
- Works substantially with little supervision or oversight to deliver key milestones
- 2-3 years prior data analyst experience preferred
- Logical Design Demonstrated ability to solve for multiple business solutions
- Demonstrated experience with several platforms
- Exposure to Zachman or RUP framework
- Data Modeling Tools Demonstrated ability with 2-3 tools
- Ability to deliver highly technical information to a broader audience beyond the team lead while influencing within the team
