This position is located in the USDAs Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This position is in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Office of the Director, Personnel Security Office.

Time in grade :

Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

Specialized Experience :

At the GS-14 : One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector / pay systems that has equipped the candidate with the particular competencies to successfully perform as a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist.

• For this position, the specialized experience includes all of the following : 1. Overseeing the National Background Investigations System (NBIS) electronic application (eApp) process, staff accesses, document review, clearance requests, and electronic delivery of completed investigations;
• 2. Ensuring appropriate funding sources are determined and allocated for investigations invoice billing; 3. Implementing national level guidance in agency standards, guidelines, or policies for major security programs;
• and, 4. Managing the OCIO Population assigned to National Security positions (Special Sensitive, Critical Sensitive, and Non-Critical Sensitive);

coordinating with DA Office of Homeland Security (OHS), Special Security Office (SSO), and other external intelligence agencies.
