Intracoastal Surgery Center is hiring a Per Diem Surgical TechnologistIntracoastal Surgery Center was designed with the goal of providing the best experience for patients and their loved ones. The facility has two large operating rooms that are equipped with the latest in advanced surgical technology. It also has one procedure room specifically created to provide the highly trained medical staff with the flexibility and tools needed for minimally invasive surgery.

- POSITION DUTIES
- Patient Care: Provides safe patient care to the operative patient by being able to effectively assist the surgeon during surgical procedures.
- Aseptic Technique: Maintains sterile technique in the OR during surgical procedures and when processing instruments and supplies
- Communication: Effectively communicates with all members of the OR team
- Inventory Control: Provides for the safe packaging of sterile supplies in adequate numbers to meet the needs of the surgery schedule. Restocks sterile room while observing proper ordering and storing of supplies
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles and practices of aseptic technique
- Assumes responsibilities according to the operating room to which assigned
- Scrubs for surgical procedures as assigned
- Communicates to the circulating nurse any problems that arise during the surgical procedure
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, supplies, and procedures
- Assists with the cleaning of the operating room before and after surgical procedures
- Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and sterilizing instruments as assigned
- Operates sterilizers as assigned and provides quality control documentation
- Restocks sterile room and sink areas in hallway
- Participates in orientation of new scrub technicians and helps to cross-train other scrub technicians in their own area of expertise
- Contributes to the Quality Improvement Program as necessary
- Participates in team meetings
- Initiates sponge and sharp counts as necessary
- Performs other duties as needed to ensure the safety and comfort of all patients as well as the efficient operation of the facility
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
- Prior Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
- Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
