Job Summary

THRIVE is seeking a qualified Mental Health Professional to join our team, dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and those from under-resourced backgrounds within Calhoun County. This role involves working collaboratively across three partner sites—Martha's Hope, Interfaith Ministries, and St. Michael's Medical Clinic—to deliver integrated mental health care tailored to the needs of our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

Martha's Hope

  • Conduct initial psychological assessments and develop individualized care plans for clients.
  • Provide ongoing psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and groups.
  • Coordinate with housing specialists to support clients' housing needs and mental health recovery.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Empowerment Coaches to integrate mental health support with housing stability plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and optimize client care plans.
  • Assist in the management of medication-related plans, ensuring adherence and monitoring side effects.
  • Work closely with Empowerment Coaches and THRIVES LCSW to provide comprehensive case management.

Interfaith Ministries

  • Facilitate support groups focused on mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support in emergency situations.
  • Engage clients in community-building activities and mental health workshops.
  • Work closely with social workers to provide comprehensive case management.
  • Provide ongoing psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and groups.
  • Work closely with THRIVE’s LCSW to provide comprehensive case management.

St. Michael's Medical Clinic:

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to manage and co-ordinate mental health care, including medication management.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment strategies and client progress.
  • Provide training and support to clinic staff on mental health issues and interventions.
  • Assist clients and their families in understanding mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Work closely with THRIVE’s LCSW to provide comprehensive case management.
  • Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions focused on various issues, including substance abuse, grief, and general mental health.
  • Assist in the management of medication-related plans, ensuring adherence and monitoring side effects.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Engage in community outreach programs to educate and involve the community in mental health and wellness initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Alabama (e.g., APPN, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD).
  • Clinical experience, particularly with vulnerable populations such as individuals experiencing homelessness or those with severe mental health issues.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized training in trauma-informed care, substance abuse, or similar fields.
  • Experience in community mental health settings.
  • Bilingual abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between multiple service locations as needed.
  • Capability to handle occasional physical activities involved in community outreach and engagement.
