Position Summary
In this part-time position, the CCPD Community Liaison will be responsible for increasing the number of agencies funded by the Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) grant opportunities that address crime/safety priorities (violent crime and police/community relations) and target groups/programs (foster care, previously adjudicated youth/adults, and/or victim services).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet with and educate community stakeholders about CCPD funding opportunities
  • Map community crime/safety related resources (i.e., agencies, funding sources, community contacts, etc.)
  • Serve as Grants representative and Co-Chair of Partners with a Shared Mission's Expert Panel for quarterly meetings to review Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Reviews and advises on community partnerships and sustainability
  • Coordinate Police messaging campaigns for CCPD grants under the direction of Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD)
  • Survey community stakeholders on crime/safety problems and the community's capability and capacity to respond
  • Advise FWPD staff on the coordination of resources toward meeting Department goals
  • Work in partnership with Grant Navigator on successful referrals
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (No Sponsorship)
  • Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication skills, exhibiting strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong community outreach experience (5 years), especially working with community-based organizations, marginalized communities, low-income communities and communities of color
  • Professionalism, discretion, and consideration working with a diverse population. Must be able to successfully manage differing interests and viewpoints
  • 5 years of grant experience (writing, management, etc.) and/or RFP development, experience working with prospective grantees preferred
  • Ability to serve as a strong team member is essential
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • High energy level and ability to work both independently and interdependently
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency. Experience with databases as well as Word, Excel, and Power Point required
  • Ability to use strategic thinking and use good judgment
  • High degree of accuracy in all work and documentation
  • Additional duties as assigned
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Texas driver's license, minimum state insurance and reliable transportation required for driving into the office and across the City of Fort Worth for community meetings.
  • Reliable Internet access to support occasional remote work.
  • Consistent communication skills; and familiarity with RFP/grant seeking process.
  • Candidates must also have the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Personal Skills and Attributes:
  • Fluency in English required, bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Work Hours/Environment:
  • Must be available to work 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • The primary work location for this position is at a UWTC office and/or remote location.
