United Way of Southwest Michigan is seeking a part-time Finance Manager, to join its dynamic, fast-paced and results-focused team. The Finance Manager will be a strategic-thought partner and report directly to the President & CEO.

The Finance Manager will oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process and is responsible for the review and monitoring of financial plans, reports, accounts, payroll, and financial progress & changes, all in accordance with GAAP. This position includes managing cash flow, preparing financial forecasts and leading all functions of the AUDIT and 990 process.  The Finance Manager will investigate ways to improve profitability and analyze markets for business opportunities and keep the Advisory Team abreast of the organization’s financial status.

UWSM is seeking a candidate that has a bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting and 3-5 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis. The candidate must have: the ability to be a strategic thought-partner, and to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information; ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners; excellent oral communication, writing skills, and presentation skills; knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools (QuickBooks or other accounting software, Excel, Word, Google etc, general knowledge of CRM platforms, a plus); excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills; attention to detail and a willingness to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to maintain confidentiality.
