This position is responsible for leading the resolution of the unpaid AR by all applicable payers of the NLH Patient Account Services in a Centralized Business Office environment. This position is responsible for resolving outstanding payer balances in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations. This position requires a thorough understanding of the requirements of the Government and Non-Government payment processing policies. In addition, this position is held accountable to adhere to the policies, procedures, and applicable laws; including metrics related to productivity and quality. This position leads a team of AR Resolution Specialists that analyze and take corrective action on outstanding AR to ensure an optimum revenue cycle workflow.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm EST

We offer 3-4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform research on various computer systems and document customer information regarding current status, payment expectations, notes of conversations and other relevant information
  • Use mail, email and phones to contact customers to discuss, negotiate payment and resolve outstanding medical bill accounts and balances
  • Obtain agreement on potential balance payoff and/or payment terms within stated level of authority and guideline limits
  • Prepare and submits reports to internal management on status of outstanding medical bills and proposed/planned payment settlement details

Required Qualifications - External

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older.
  • 2 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of detailed knowledge of billing and payment rules and regulations in a healthcare setting (Government and/or non-Government payers); multiple hospitals/physician practices
  • 1 years of Claim Status experience
  • 1 years of Commercial HMO / PPO
  • 1 years of Payment Remittance Advice
  • Must be competent in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work Eastern Standard Time zone work hours
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm EST

Preferred Qualifications - External

  • 2 years of healthcare AR resolution experience
  • 1 year Cerner revenue cycle
  • 1 year eFR

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The salary range for this is $48,300 - $94,500 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
