The Senior Consultant, Pharmacy Advisory Services works within the pharmacy domain, and serves a multi-disciplinary team of actuaries, business pharmacists, life sciences experts, and management consultants to help our customers make more informed business decisions, reducing risk, and serving their members to the fullest potential. This role serves a key function in supporting business operations, managing client delivery through project management and requirements elicitation, supporting our brand through client proposal development, and ensuring a culture of quality. 

This role will also serve as primary support for an innovative collaboration service that helps customers and key stakeholders address and solve complex problems across the continuum of care in healthcare domain. 

The Senior Consultant will proactively anticipate challenges and risks, make sound adjustments/recommendations to address issues, and play an active role in improving business processes, knowledge management, etc. Additionally, the Senior Consultant will lead or participate in various practice development projects, thought leadership, and other accretive activities to the practice.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management: Lead small to medium size client projects intended to design and develop analytics that offer financial insights in the pharmacy domain. This includes charter development, planning, financials, issue and risk management, scheduling, and other logistics in quality delivery
  • Operations Management: Serve as the teams operations lead supporting sales pipeline discipline, communications, milestone management, marketing and brand management, and lead for internal special projects
  • Business Analysis: Serve as BA for small to medium size client projects. Manage requirement elicitation and documentation and lead QA testing in support of project delivery.
  • Major contributor to product ideation and product management within the team
  • Able to demonstrate foundational fluency and knowledge of the healthcare and pharmacy industry
  • Able to establish credibility and work with client key stakeholders to develop trusted relationships while ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of healthcare and pharmacy research, tools, and assets used by the team to support client work
  • Proactively anticipate challenges and risks and make sound adjustments / recommendations to address issues
  • Effective and accurate communicates with clients, prospects, members, and other team members is crucial for clear expectation setting and quality in delivery
  • Lead or participate in various strategic practice development projects in Pharmacy Advisory and other practices - play active roles in improving business processes, knowledge management, etc.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3 years of healthcare experience within Payer, Provider, or Life Sciences 
  • 3 years of Client relationship management experience
  • 3 years of Project management experience
  • 2 years of external client facing experience at a consulting firm (Big 3 / Big 4 / Big 6 / Boutique) 
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and provide solutions
  • Proven ability to drill down to the root cause of issues and be creative in problem solving
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically, up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of consulting experience 
  • Experience with delivering small to medium size projects
  • Experience with building innovations in established or startup organizations 
  • Experience with Human centered design thinking and approaches
  • Consumer, sales, and/or marketing experience
  • Experience working in and successfully navigating a matrixed environment
  • Exposure to Voice of Consumer (VoC) research, Net Promoter Score (NPS), effectiveness assessment, and design and measurement recommendations
  • Solid understanding of consumer engagement performance measures (e.g., NPS, STARS, CAHPS)
  • Proven analytical reasoning and solution-focus problem solving
  • Proven ability to participate in cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
