Overview:

Ability to demonstrate success in the administration of UnitedHealth Group’s Workers’ Compensation program while working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment under the general direction of the Workers’ Compensation Manager.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating claims cost, loss experience trends and reserves and communicate information effectively to business partners
  • Understanding the operations and relationship between business segments
  • Running workers’ compensation reports and interpreting loss data
  • Monitoring the performance of the third party claims administrator to ensure delivery of high level customer service, program adherence and regulatory compliance
  • Assisting with workers’ compensation claim reviews and claim audits
  • Assisting with developing, implementing and monitoring workers’ compensation claim reporting process, loss investigation, reserves, return to work, settlement and resolution of claims within authority level
  • Assisting with state and federal regulatory compliance
  • Responding to effectively resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and escalations
  • Evaluating problems and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues with internal and external partners
  • Assisting with workers’ compensation integration for acquisitions
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience
  • 3 years of multi-jurisdiction experience and 2 years as a Workers' Compensation Account Manager, Program Manager, and/or Casualty Claims Supervisor
  • Self-motivated with an exhibited sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated solid oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Access and Visio experience helpful

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
