They feel that an RN with ACLS should easily be able to pass this Ratios Mainly 1:5-6 for both days & nights on most units (once or twice a month could have 7 patients toward the end of the shift). Depends on acuity of patients. EMR EPIC (See info regarding Epic in the General Info Tab) Charge Nurse Yes - Every unit has a charge nurse. Day charge does not take patients, Night charge does take patients Nurse Aides Yes - all units use CNAs Weekend Requirement Every-other-weekend. Sat/Sun for both Days/Nights Holidays Work in the holiday rotation schedule with perm staff Scrub Color Royal Blue Tele Phillips - Most units have monitor techs but RN's must be able to read & interpret strips RT 24/7 CPAP & BiPap only - RT manages Vents Some units could have BiPAP or CPAP - RT Manages RT 24/7 RT is in-house 24/7 but RN's do aerosols for non-vented patients as well as EKGs IV Team IV Team available house-wide until 10 pm M-F & until 3:30 pm on the weekends Pharmacy 24/7 In-house pharmacy 24/7 & use Accudose Shifts 12 hour shifts 7a - 7p; 7p - 7a Floor specific orientation 1-2 Shifts with a preceptor Common diagnosis / Types of patients CHF, Cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, Ortho, & Oncology (perm staff will administer chemo) Additional Notes Manager is open to Traveler requests to work primarily on 6N if requested.
