Description

Position Summary: Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all plumbing related fixtures and piping including outside and under ground water distribution lines, to include residential and commercial distribution systems. Communicating with the Supervisors/Managers of repair needs and priorities. Willingly provide backup for the needs of the Maintenance Department.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Operate Trencher, Backhoe and other equipment as needed for the installation and repair of utilities.
2. Ability to take ownership of utility blueprints, valve locations and condition.
3. Perform regular and routine maintenance and repairs on campus wide plumbing and water distribution systems.
4. Provide routine inspections of building roofs, gutters, windows mortar, block and caulk, etc. and report problems found to Supervisors/ Manager.
5. Assist with scope of work within the organization/department and with contractors’ repairs and locate needed parts and materials to complete the assigned project.
6. Ownership of preventative Maintenance program associated within assigned area.
7. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety requirements.
8. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule.
9. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid time off request.
10. Able to maintain clean working environment to include Equipment, trucks, tools and general good house keeping in assigned work area.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

1.Provide backup assistance as needed for the completion of work orders and demand of departmental staff.

2.Demonstrate customer service attitude with each department interaction and work order request.

3.Able to meet after hours/ weekends on call rotation responsibilities to meet demands of the department.

5. Snow removal as required.

Qualifications

Education:

1.Vocational or Technical certification in plumbing or minimum 5 years in plumbing trade.

Experience:

1. Backflow Certification
2. Equipment operator experience-Backhoe, Trencher and Uni-loader.
3. 5 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
4. High mechanical aptitude.
5. Experience working with minimal supervision.

Computer Skills:

1.Basic computer skills.

Certificates & Licenses:

1.Valid Missouri driver’s license.

2.Water Distribution Certification from DNR or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
