Serves as a leader, innovator, mentor and role model for UnityPoint Trinity Quad Cities/Muscatine outpatient and ambulatory pharmacy services. Collaborates with the Physicians, Directors/Managers & UnityPoint Health Trinity staff to coordinate educational efforts and retail pharmacy best practice to best serve our patients & community. Provides oversight and is responsible for the fiscal viability of the department through the budget process and oversight of expenses and development of growth opportunities to increase revenue and actively contributing to financial sustainability efforts. Staffing support up to 40% of time may be required.

Management/Leadership

• Responsible for implementation, ongoing oversight, leadership and strategic growth of ambulatory pharmacy services, including but not limited to outpatient pharmacy dispensing, transitions of care services, prescription capture initiatives, and outreach and community education
• Provides day-to-day operations oversight, quality management, reimbursement monitoring, performance improvement and human resource management
• Collaborates with pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams in providing vision and strategic plans for program development; plays a vital role in the direction and administration of outpatient pharmacy service management within the organization and at the system-wide level
• Provides direction for the selection and ongoing review of the curriculum and educational materials to ensure they meet the needs of the population targeted
• Develops and directs the implementation of an annual program evaluation plan and performance improvement activities, including quality improvement projects. Responsible for KPIs & clinical outcomes
• Develops a plan to ensure that program accreditation and regulatory requirements are understood and met
• Oversees the care process and ensures that services are provided in a fiscally responsible manner
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with community groups, payers and potential referral sources
• Collaborates with informatics and end-users to create/improve services related documentation and reporting, including scorecards
• Leads gap analysis, recommends changes and implements improvements related to patient care, education and management
• Monitors patient safety reports related to related services
• Collaborates with all delivery of care areas
• Serves as a mentor and leader
• Plans and/or participates in the implementation of seminars, conferences or courses
• Patient Care & Case Management
• Staff scheduling
• Responsible for documentation audits and outcomes reporting
• Responsible for staff competencies, new employee onboarding & annual staff evaluations
• Responsible for safety documentation, drills & protocols including bi-annual review of accreditation survey readiness & provide report.
• Responsible for monthly staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Finance

• Demonstrates innovation in the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies and/or growth opportunities.
• Develops budget, manages FTEs and productivity.
• Manages financial resources to meet or exceed budget expectations
• Demonstrates innovation in the delivery of quality services
• Responsible for monthly review of supply usage

Education:

• A graduate of an approved College of Pharmacy and possesses a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS degree in Pharmacy.

Experience:

• PGY1/PGY2 Heath-System Pharmacy Administration Residency, PGY1/PGY2 Ambulatory Pharmacy Residency, or a minimum of two years of pharmacy supervisory experience.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in IA and IL.
• Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in IA and IL.
• This Pharmacist shall hold the Pharmacy License & maintain control and custody of the possession of dangerous drugs acquired by the institution.
