We are seeking an experienced Insurance business analyst to provide insight and analysis for the company’s underwriting processes leveraging the ClarionDoor Rate / Quote / Bind / Issue (RQBI) system. This position is expected to lead the business analysis and implementation for how ClarionDoor is currently being used, planned future usage, and opportunities for the Company’s product, operational, underwriting, and distribution areas consistent with the Company’s overall business and technical strategy.
Candidates will be expected to advise the company on how to improve the RQBI functionality and services being utilized by identifying enhancement opportunities. Candidates in this role must then analyze and lead the implementation of solutions for the RQBI processes and the integration to the Company’s policy management, information management, and business intelligence systems. Additionally, candidates will provide support to the overall underwriting team by monitoring, tracking, and driving enhancements, adjustments, and technical repairs to the necessary systems via collaboration and coordination with internal systems team members and contract/software vendors.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create requirements and specifications for business solutions
  • Assist Underwriting team with issue reporting
  • Manage Company’s systems Kanban board and coordinate solutions with RQBI vendor
  • Develop expertise using ClarionDoor and become in-house expert in setup, configuration, and management of RQBI system
  • Conduct business analysis and research to identify improvement in Company systems
  • Escalate issues as needed within the Company, IT Management, the RQBI vendor
  • Consult with key Company stakeholders to determine business objectives and success factors
  • Collaborate with business and IT team members to collect, analyze, and evaluate improvements
  • Write and document business requirements, functional requirements, and design specifications
  • Work with IT team members to develop solutions that meets business requirements
  • Continuously improve existing business processes and strive to develop efficiency improvements
Key Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of Property and Casualty underwriting concepts
  • Basic understanding of underwriting rules, regulatory requirements, and risk management
  • Education in insurance and/or risk management, business administration, finance, or related fields
  • Strong problem-solving and management skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience in project management (PMP Certification preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, MS Project, MS Visio, SQL
  • Data visualization and data analysis experience preferred
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, and Confluence
  • Experience with ClarionDoor RQBI system from Zywave a very strong plus
