Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Officer. As a Medical Records Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing patient medical records in a medical office setting. This is a vital role in ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for patient care.

Essential Functions:

• Routine auditing of medical records for required documents and signatures.
• Secures health information and ensures its confidentiality.
• Copies and files clinical documentation in appropriate chart order.
• Secures signed orders and documents from physicians and consultants.
• Faxes and transmits documents to approved health care providers.
• Secures the necessary physician signatures and clinical staff signatures for the clinical documentation.
• Ensures clinical documentation is copied and filed correctly.
• Thins medical charts in accordance with facility policy and files overflow appropriately.
• Secures and files closed records in accordance with current standards of practice.
• Ordering necessary supplies, forms and equipment as directed by the management staff.
• Assures clinical team has ready access to clinical forms.
• Conducts or assists with special projects as requested by management staff.

Qualifications:

• Preferable experience in medical records management
• Knowledge of medical records principles and management of health information
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and self-direct tasks productively on a daily basis

Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
