- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Other Accredited Program Graduated from a state accredited paramedic program Required
- 3 years Paramedic Experience (Level II)
- 5 years Paramedic Experience (Level III) OR Associates degree and 3 years’ experience Bachelors of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services OR classroom/clinical instructor (ACLS, PALS, ITLS, BLS instructor)
- Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds; able to organize changing work assignments. Required
- Medical terminology desirable. Preferred
- Patient care equipment specific to assigned population, telephone, beeper system, and nurse call system.
- Three Peer Reviews required for Level II and III
- Criteria to Promote and Maintain (five for Level II; seven for Level III)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- State of Ohio Paramedic Certification required. Required
- PALS (exception CMC) Required
- Paramedic Specialty Certification (doesn’t include BLS, ACLS, ITLS, PALS, or NRP) ; required for Level II & III) Required
