6 medical is a 26 private room medical/surgical unit, from which 9 beds have cardiac monitoring capability. Common diagnosis include: COPD, Pneumonia, UTI, Chronic Renal Failure, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, Cellulitis, Wound Infections, Hospice Management and GI related problems. There is a unit based Nurse Practitioner Monday through Friday and a Clinical Coordinator on most evening shifts.

Position Summary

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Education

• Other Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
• (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. Required
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required During Orientation
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
