The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Neurology Chair Office, is seeking a Manager-Clinical Research Coordination. Serves as the Clinical Operations Manager for the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC), managing clinical research operations and staff. Operating with a high degree of independence manages a portfolio of observational clinical research studies at multiple sites. Provides direction and the development of plans for achieving program goals and processes and tools for reporting and productivity. Supervises a clinical core staff and is responsible for long-range planning. Manages clinical core expenses and budget, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and progress report writing, and regulatory responsibilities. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills are required, with attention to detail and experience managing complex clinical research activities. General Responsibilities
To manage all aspects of research program and clinical studies including education/teaching.
To oversee and manage multiple clinical research protocols and the associated personnel.
To design best practices for management of IP for drug, device, and biologic studies.
To prepare study budgets.
To manage research staff within area including all applicable human resources functions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manages ADRC Clinical Core staff in carrying out program activities.
Establishes programmatic objectives and manages the development of standard operating procedures as necessary for operations.
Oversees the use of Electronic Data Capture systems and OnCore.
Initiates and/or assists with developing and revising policies and procedures for research staff.
Trains staff to maintain documentation for all processes.
Manages research staff within area including all applicable human resource functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $70,425 - $114,440 Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification strongly preferred. Preferences
The ideal candidate will have previous research experience, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
