University of Alaska - External Careers is Hiring a Communications and Events Coordinator Near Anchorage, AK

The UAA College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates for its Communications and Events Coordinator. In this position, you will be responsible for the creation of graphic design content for CAS channels, as well as video and photography content. You will also support and organize departmental and college outreach events and our summer outreach programs; which requires being able to attend events that can occur on weekends and evenings. In conjunction with the College’s Communications Specialist, you will create different advertisements and promotional materials for the College. There will be on-going collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences communications specialist, the Dean’s Office, the College’s academic units, as well as with academic advisors.

The College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a candidate that is motivated, has strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, and can work on multiple projects at the same time. A successful candidate will have a passion for creative work, especially design, and will work well in a collaborative, team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years progressively responsible experience related to the duties of this position or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. 

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Power Point, and Excel), Google suite, databases, online data queries and reports.

Proficient in programs like Canva and/or the AdobeCreative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.)
Preferred Experience:

● Experience in higher education.
● Familiarity with the College of Arts and Sciences and our academic programs.
● Experience in Graphic Design.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
