Do you have an interest in developing the next generation of laboratory professionals? The Medical Laboratory Science Program is looking for a team player familiar with laboratory duties to set up student labs, monitor reagents and the disposal of biohazardous waste, plus order, purchase and restock supplies. We invite all Certified MLT’s to apply.

Technical expertise in maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory analyzers. Basic microbiology skills such as sterile technique, good isolation technique, basic testing, making media. Critical thinking skills for assuring proper reactions and research

Two years' experience in a field relevant to the research or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certification as an MLT/CLT or MT/CLS with ASCP or NCA.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years college coursework in fields relevant to Medical Laboratory Science and two years' experience in a field relevant to Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Certification as an MLT/CLT or MT/CLS with ASCP or NCA.
Graduate from an NAACLS accredited school.

Position Details:

This position is located in person on the Goose Lake campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

The university system started as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines in Fairbanks, later renamed the University of Alaska. That first year, the campus was a single two-story frame building and had just six students. The school was renamed the University of Alaska in 1935.
