The position is specific to the Department of Mathematics and the Applied Mathematics Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (AM GIDP) at the University of Arizona.
The postdoc will contribute to the Innovation in Graduate Education (IGE) NSF funded project at the University of Arizona's Applied Mathematics Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (AM GIDP) that integrates data science and AI into the AM PhD curriculum. Collaborating closely with national and industrial laboratory partners, this initiative aims to foster a new generation of researchers equipped to tackle pressing national and global challenges in the AI realm. The overarching goal is to revolutionize graduate applied mathematics training, bridging academic learning with real-world applications in both traditional and contemporary AM contexts, encompassing data science and AI.
In addition, the IGE postdoc is provided a summer stipend to support their participation in IGE summer training activities for graduate students of the AM GIDP. Postdoc will have access to a travel allowance throughout their appointment to attend professional meetings.
