Perform nucleic acid extraction/isolation from shrimp tissue for detection of shrimp diseaseDesign, set up, and interpret PCR and real-time PCR experiments for the detection of disease in shrimp.Perform cloning of nucleic acid sequences, preparing nucleic acid samples for sequencing, and analyzing sequencing data.Laboratory upkeep, record keeping, and assistance of other research projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and experience performing PCR or qPCRKnowledge of an experience performing nucleic acid extractions/isolationsKnowledge of and experience culturing bacteria and analyzing Sanger Sequencing data.Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
