Department: ICE | CORE PA IP Social Work IP C Department's Website: UAMS - All Careers Summary of Job Duties: Shifts: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Rotating Weekends The Licensed Master Social Worker at the Psychiatric Research Institute's adult inpatient units functions in the role assisting the patient and family and interdisciplinary team through the care episode. The primary duties in addition to any discharge planning activities include individual, group, and family therapy to the adult population, communicating with the patients, assisting in the development of a specific treatment plan that reflects the therapeutic intervention to address the patient’s needs. They provides services through the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service. This position offers a $10,000 taxable Sign-On Bonus in return for a 18-month work commitment • $3,000 after completion of 90 day probation • $3,000 after completion of 1st year of employment • $4,000 after completion of 18 months of employment Qualifications: • Applicant has applied for a full-time Social Work position on an Inpatient Unit or in PRI in the Care Management Department • Applicant is not a current UAMS employee • If applicant was previously employed by UAMS, at least 180 days have passed between termination and re-hire Payment Eligibility Requirements for Applicant: • Must maintain full-time employment at UAMS. • Must remain employed in Care Management Department. • Must maintain satisfactory annual performance evaluation with no progressive discipline. Must be hired and remain employed at UAMS to receive payments Qualifications: Minimum: Masters' degree in Social Work Must be licensed by an Arkansas Professional Board as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) by date of hire (Provisional License Master Social Worker accepted) Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) Preferred Qualifications or Competencies: Experience in acute, adult mental health field Two (2) or more years of work experience in the behavioral health field CPI training Certified Case Manager (CCM) or American Case Management (ACM) certification. Responsibilities: Psychosocial Assessment/Services: Completes assessment for patients admitted to the hospital. Performs discharge planning and aftercare coordination, community referrals and linkages. Provides patient and family education and adjustment to illness counseling, grief counseling and crisis intervention. Promotes patient and family centered care and documents the patient choices in the medical record as required. Recommends care and services that are appropriate to the specified chronological age, developmental age, social maturity, and cultural background of the patient being treated. Communication/Collaboration: Documents and communicates with all treatment teams, patient, and family pertaining to the coordination of care and services. Serves as a consultant for processing guardianship, power of attorney, health care proxy, and advance directives. Collaborates with other UAMS Departments and actively participates in hospital wide performance improvement metrics and regulatory compliance initiatives. Reports and reviews department specific data metrics on a monthly basis. Implements, monitors, and evaluates the Care Management quality improvement initiatives. Leadership - Acts as a resource to others in the performance of duties. Demonstrates a commitment to the personal and professional development of other UAMS employees. Participates in recruitment/retention of staff. Customer Service: Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
